Saudade
by Fabiana de Barros & Michel Favre
5'00
The Portuguese word “saudade” defines a feeling that is untranslatable, even if each language has its equivalent: nostalgia, spleen, heimweh, etc. The film unfolds some elements of a daylife of a homeless who has given himself the mission to feed stray cats and to clean up their territory. Here, “saudade” is of a world where, eventually, will remain only the traces of animal and human heat and
where the stray cats and the tramps could be the last witnesses of a certain idea of civilization.
