Circus Palermo
by Marcello Maloberti, Italy
11'21
The video is shot in Palermo where Circus was created for the first time in 2007. Installed in a very popular area of the city, Circus is composed by a market tent, two hundred mirrors hung with raffia thread and four cars parked with the headlights on. A few steps from the tent, a DJ plays loud music. Starting from the afternoon, everything is part of a small funfair, where the scenography and the public converge a tribute to the poetics of Pier Paolo Pasolini and Federico Fellini. Circus was then performed in September 2013 at the opening night of the 4th Biennale of Thessaloniki, curated by ART for The World.
